April 1, marked the anniversary of the company Marc leads, Vanmarc Shipping Limited. Named for his sister Vanessa and himself, Vanmarc was founded 46 years ago today by his parents Thomas and Barbara Marling. Tom led the company until his untimely death in 1982. Barbara took over and really built it until she retired in 2009. Marc never thought of them at entrepreneurs, he just thought it was their “job”. Today he understands the sacrifice, the worry, the strain and also the excitement of leading your own business and has nothing but respect for what his parents did in building the company.
Corporate Thought was launched as a resource for all the entrepreneurs and wantrapreneurs out there. It is hard work but those who feel the calling towards their own business understand that nothing else will scratch that itch.
